Sea Life Animation

From the first time I heard my allocated song I immediately thought of sea life and being underwater because the music is so mellow and clam, and this is where the inspiration for this animation came from.

I started out thinking of sea creatures, I didn't want a few boring fish so I thought that a Crab and Octopus would be more interesting, especially the octopus because it could have so many moving parts.

My next move was to make a quick story board of what could happen during the animation, and I thought that using the silhouettes of the creatures would add a little more interest (this was inspired by the silhouette shapes from the Rayograms)

Next I further developed the idea so that I could add in the background colours and put the images into the storyboard format.

I scanned these drawings in so that I could fix any mistakes and add a colour as the background, I knew I didn't want it to be black like the Rayograms and I also wanted the animation to be fun so I tried out a few different colours to see which I preferred.

To me a blue background would have been too obvious and although I like all of them I chose green. However I thought that the colour could possibly change slowly throughout the animation, but this might be looked at during the production of the video.
